(This article is based on a presentation given by Dr. Tim Griffin at the Annual General Meeting of Ability Options on 10/9/98.) Dr. Griffin talked about spoke about theories that have affected aging people over time. He advocates the 'continuity' theory: this supports the concept of 'aging in place', i.e. aging where you want to be. Also discussed were issues to be considered as people with intellectual disability age. Dr. Griffin stressed the importance of appropriate supports to allow 'aging in place' and acknowledged that the disability sector has the skills to provide this. Keyword: Aging
