In this paper, Lippman takes a woman-centred approach to examine some of the issues around prenatal testing, questioning the themes of 'reassurance' and 'choice', as well as considering the concept of 'risk' and the message that prenatal testing sends about disability. She also explores what 'lifestyle' testing means to a woman and points out that the economic and eugenic forces propelling testing activities have not been properly addressed. Lippman argues that we need to be continually questioning prenatal testing in order to safeguard mothers and their future children. Keyword: Ethics
