Reading this overview of life for people with disability in Australia in the 1990's, it is clear that they are a long way from being considered as citizens. It is also clear that continuing advocacy is needed if people with disability are to have access to, and be included in, Australian society. Herbert challenges us to recognise the citizenship of people with a disability, and to work towards supporting them in ways that enable them to fully participate in society.
