This article was presented at a conference in Victoria on sterilisation entitled "My Body, My Mind, My Choice". It is written by a parent who argues that issues of menstruation, for example, should be looked at objectively - it need not be a crisis, it can not be seen as a way of protecting against rape and it must be seen as something common to all women, rather than just a "rights" or "privilege" issue. The article provides an ideal set of steps to assist in working through sterilisation for girls and women with disabilities. Keyword: Ethics
