Although this paper is written for a North American audience, it does contain some valuable concepts about attitude and expectations. Kathie Snow urges parents to 'dream big dreams' for their child with disability and to encourage their child to talk about what they want to do when they grow up. She advises that supporting a young person's dreams is the most important step in helping him/her become a successful adult and gives ideas about how to make the dream a reality, as well as obstacles to avoid.
