Bullying in Schools - A New Perspective

Written Material

The author offers a perspective on bullying, particularly of children with disabilities. She states that bullying, if allowed to continue by adults merely shows children that bullying is acceptable behaviour. Instead this behaviour must be shown to be wrong and bullying must be dealt with rather than getting the child who is bullied to ignore the problem, therefore making them feel guilt for apparently encouraging the bullying. Child models their behaviour off others so by an adult taking responsibility for bullying this sends the message to children.
