This editorial to a New Internationalist special on disability gives a brief introduction to the issue of disability cross culturally. The author cites a positive example of inclusive schooling in Zanzibar and quotes a teacher who makes the simple but profound statement, "They make the children ask themselves 'Why are we alone?'".
