This report outlines the findings of a Commonwealth Project of National Significance - Special Education. The project selected and evaluated nine professional development programs for teachers around Australia. Each is aimed at enhancing the competence and confidence of teachers of students with disabilities in regular schools. The report is clearly set out, with a chapter on each package which describes the package and how it was trialled as well as giving a detailed evaluation/sumary of the positive features. The report also briefly covers packages on developing networks and on using special schools as a resource centre. Also included are chapters on key factors for successful classroom inclusion, together with a comprehensive literature review. Keywords: Professionals, Education, School age
