A comprehensive text addressing a wide range of issues facing the family which has a child with a disability. The text came out of the author's professional experience at working with mothers and their children with disabilities - the material is based on these women's experiences. There is little attention paid to medical or theoretical aspects of disability, the emphasis being more on acknowledging and dealing with emotions concerned , needs and effective ways of managing interpersonal relationships with people ranging from family members to the general public.
