One of the most common concerns for families is the uncertainty about the future for their family member with disability. When contemplating what will happen when they die, many parents think only of wills and guardian ship. In this paper, Jeremy Ward argues that while these legal mechanisms are important, they should not be formulated without the development of a vision and a plan. This paper identifies the ways families can plan for and provide a secure future for their family member with disability. It discusses ideas about creating a vision, making a plan, and developing a Circle fo Support.
