This qualitative study addresses the role of human service providers in facilitating natural sources of employment support and describes the strategies currently in use in 33 schools and adult service agencies in Massachusetts. Individuals in the organisations were asked specific questions on strategies and barriers to facilitation of natural support resources. Interview data revealed that schools and adult service providers which are considered to provide high quality employment services, employ a variety of strategies to foster and nurture the involvement of families, employers, and co-workers in the employment process.
