The final piece on the story of the Holland family and their 5 year legal battle in Sacramento, U.S.A., over their daughter's right to a regular education placement. This testimony by the father to the U.S. House of Representatives is a powerful example of advocacy in itself (even though he is specifically testifying around the issue of legal costs) but so is the entire story. The family risked bankruptcy, foreclosure on their home and the possibility of lifelong debt, in order that their daughter attend the primary school of their choice. What the decision means is that other parents will not have to fight, but instead focus upon how to include students. Keywords: Advocacy, Education, Legal
