This author argues that there are serious problems with the modern public education system (western style) and that reform calls for revolutionary cultural change: not only within the educational system but within the context of society as a whole. Educational settings are one of the best sites for fostering societal transformation and a fundamental attitudinal change. Thus, those in the inclusive education movement should take account of this - the concepts of inclusion and a reconceptualisation of disability can significantly impact the reconceptualisation of education and thus society.
