Although this article is not centred around 'disability', the points the author makes about unconsciousness and its effect on the self perceptions of reality by advantaged groups of people (in this case 'whites' and 'men') also has parallels to the socially constructed division between 'disabled' and 'non disabled' people. It is something that few people realise; that discrimination of any kind actually simultaneously confers privilege and dominance on one group while it structurally disadvantages another.
