  • By uploading, publishing, transmitting or making available any data, content or other material to Family Advocacy, including but not limited to, sharing posts using specific hashtags (#) in line with a campaign we might be running at that time, posting, publishing or uploading comments, reviews, images, photos, content or any other material to our Websites (User Content), you grant Family Advocacy, its affiliates, licensees and successors a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide and fully sub-licensable right to use, communicate, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, publicly perform, translate, create derivative works from, distribute and display in any form, any such content, including but not limited to text, images, videos, graphics, audio and photographs without attribution.
  • By posting, uploading, publishing, transmitting or making available any User Content to Family Advocacy, you warrant and represent to Family Advocacy that:
    • you hold all the intellectual property rights to the User Content and have the authority to upload or make available the User Content and license the User Content to Family Advocacy;

    • any User Content you associate with the Services or send to other users is accurate, complete, not false and not misleading;
    • if the User Content includes imagery of other individuals, you have obtained all necessary consents from those individuals to use their images and to grant Family Advocacy the rights described above.

Security of Payments: We have utilised a payment gateway from a trusted and experienced provider for all payments on the website to ensure high security and encryption in accordance with industry standards. Users are notified of encryption processing when a gold padlock appears on the bottom right of the browser. Please be aware no security mechanism is 100% secure. Ensure you are comfortable with the provider prior to proceeding with payment. Family Advocacy disclaims all liability from any difficulties or anomalies arising from payments made on the payment gateway.

What to Expect After Registering for an Event Online: You will receive an automated acknowledgment if your registration to the event has been successful. If you have requested an invoice, it will be emailed to you. Once we have processed your online payment, a receipt will be sent to you. All registrants (including unpaid) will receive confirmation regarding their registration within the week prior to the event.

Limitation of Liability: You (the user) are responsible for your own actions and consequences when using our website and services.

    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, Family Advocacy, its employees, agents, affiliates, and any third-party suppliers will not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from:(a) the use or reliance on information from our Services;
      (b) unavailability or delay of our Services;
      (c) errors or omissions in the information provided;
      (d) loss of data;
      (e) goods or services provided by Family Advocacy; or
      (f) any breach of these Terms.

Inclusion Collection 

The Inclusion Collection is a library of resources comprising books, articles, reports, and audio-video material. The intention of the Collection is to educate, inform, and inspire families and others who work with people with disabilities. People with disability, their families, students, and professionals can access the Inclusion Collection library.

  • Access and Borrowing: Physical resources may be loaned within NSW. Interstate loans may require approval. Users wanting to borrow a hard copy resource, must request for them on our website by completing a form.
  • New Additions and Recommending a Resource: The inclusion Collection user may chose to inform the organisation of a potentially new or historical resources, articles, or books suitable for the Inclusion Collection may complete a form on the Inclusion Collection page to request a review of its suitability to be added to the library.
    • The Family Advocacy team will coordinate an assessment of the resource’s suitability in line with the Purpose of Family Advocacy.
    • When a resource is recommended and a confirmation receipt is received, this is not evidence and does not guarantee its addition to the library.
    • Family Advocacy reserves the right to not inform users of a new addition/s to the library, including the person or entity that submitted the initial request for review.
  • Copyright: Copyright laws require that where a library copies articles or parts of literary works for users, or, where training material including but not limited to Family Advocacy workshops, acknowledgment of the original source must be noted.
  • Loan Period: Books may be borrowed for up to 30 days, with a possible reasonable extension of a further 10 days upon request.
    • Requests for resources can be made by emailing communications@family-advocacy.com
  • Borrowing process:
    • We do not charge a borrowing fee.
    • When completing a form online to borrow a resource, hard copy resources will require a postage address.
    • In some cases, credit card details may be requested when filling out a resource request form so in the off chance an item goes missing, is damaged or returned late, Family Advocacy may charge an administrative fee.
      • Family Advocacy reserves the right to charge an administration fee for late, damaged or missing items.
    • All loans and downloads are recorded on the Family Advocacy website, reports on frequency and use of resources are available to staff only.
  • Email reminders: A reminder email will be sent to inform the borrower when their item is due for return. However the borrower is responsible for tracking the due date and returning the item on time, if our email reminder is not sent it does negate the borrowers responsibility to ensure the item is returned in the same condition it was received, and on time.
  • Overdue and Lost Items: Overdue items incur a charge of $2.00 per day late.
  • Confidential Information: We hold confidential information, including download/request history and card details.
    • This information is protected and managed in accordance with privacy laws.
    • Third parties involved in processing payments or managing the database may also hold confidential information. Their handling of this data is subject to strict confidentiality agreements and privacy laws.

 

All of our terms and conditions and policies that are linked to or in the Websites, including our Privacy Policy, are incorporated into these Terms. You agree to comply with all such Terms when accessing or using our website or services.
